We’re honored to share with you the great news! Our very own Old Captiva House was recognized in this year’s CROW’s Taste of the Islands contest, receiving first place in Taste of the Taste and Best Seafood Dish categories.

Even though the venue was different from years prior, the 39th annual Taste of the Islands was a success. This year featured a record high 31 top restaurants from Sanibel and Captiva Islands. Each restaurant competing had a featured weekend, where voters could come taste their participating dishes in a condensed and safe environment.

Our entered dish, the Cioppino (Fisherman’s Stew), received high praise from voters, snagging wins in two categories. Cioppino is a classic dish at the Old Captiva House, instantly bringing the coastal island vibe to you and your tastebuds. Featuring an assortment of seafood delicacies such as clams, mussels, scallops, shrimp, calamari and Gulf grouper – our chefs then add scratch made roasted tomato seafood broth with a saffron risotto cake to compliment.

So next time you visit, come share the taste of sweet victory and give our award winning Cioppino a try!
